Dante's Inferno As An Animated Movie

Starz and Visceral Games have revealed the first trailer for the animated Dante's Inferno, based on the immortal epic. From the producers of Dead Space: Downfall, the feature-length movie expands on the story in EA's new game coming out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Just as the poem and game take players on a stunning journey through the nine circles of Hell, the Dante's Inferno animated feature will also follow Dante as he travels through limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery in search of his true love, Beatrice. Both are based on part one of Dante Alighieri's classic poem, "The Divine Comedy," better known as "Dante's Inferno."

The DVD, Blu-ray and video game hit stores in February. The game itself was optioned by Universal Pictures for a feature film. You can visit the official website for more info.

Zachary Levi Turned Down Role in Thor for Chuck



The nerd-spy TV series Chuck faced down cancellation and came out victorious, even adding six more episodes to the thirteen already on order for its third season. Unfortunately, there was one casualty: series star Zachary Levi was forced to turn down an offer to play Fandral, one of the "Warrior's Three," in director Kenneth Branagh's live-action adaptation of the Thor comic book series, set to begin filming in January.

According to USA Weekend, the addition of six episodes caused a scheduling conflict that prevented Levi from accepting the role. Levi said that he had actually been asked to try out for the title role of the God of Thunder, as well, but declined.

I'm tall and in pretty good shape, but I'm not big and girthy like that.

Thor stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, and Anthony Hopkins as Thor's father, Odin.

Philadelphia: PRR Steam Plant Implosion

Made the early morning trek up to Philly to see this go down. I got there about an hour before it went down and staked out a spot. I was the first person on the block but even minutes after I got there people began to pour into the streets. I got a better spot for my video camera than even the lady from Controlled Demolition International (the people bringing down the stack) did. She was probably pissed. They did a poor job of giving people a signal when this was going to go down. The news said 7:30. Than the CDI lady said 7:45. It actually went down around 7:47. They usually let off a siren or something when it is about to happen but they didn't do anything. My video camera was acting up about 6 seconds before this happened and thankfully it started filming right at this second. I didn't even have to edit this video at all. It was perfect timing...



While I was waiting I saw something that looked like a giant rat go under this Jeep. Some people and I walked over to take a look. We saw it was an opossum. Later on the opossum walked across the street through the crowd of people and dug under the fence and started walking towards the implosion. I don't think he even made it to the tracks but wherever he was I'm sure he got a rude awakening.

"Couples Retreat" Poster In UK Removes Black Couple

Universal changed "Couples Retreat" marketing material for the film's UK release, and removed the black actors from both the poster's photo and the list of stars typed out.

The film, which features four couples who go on vacation together, costars Faizon Love as a divorced man who takes his new girlfriend along, played by Kali Hawk.

Below are the UK (left) and the US (right) poster.

The Mail on Sunday reports:

The studio said it regretted causing offence and has abandoned plans to use the revised poster in other countries... A Universal spokesman said the revised advert aimed 'to simplify the poster to actors who are most recognisable in international markets'.

The curse of Friday the 13th struck Bruce Springsteen in a most unusual way: it made the 60-year-old rock legend forget where he was.

The Boss bellowed "Hello, Ohio!" to his fans at the Auburn Hills Palace in Michigan.

Springsteen referred to the neighboring state several times in the following 30 minutes until E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt whispered in his ear.

A visibly embarrassed Springsteen grinned and said such a mistake was "every front man's nightmare."

The Detroit Free Press says Springsteen rocked the forgiving audience for nearly three hours Friday night with new and old hits including a complete performance of his album "Born to Run."

"He seemed very merry but he was still willing to talk to people. So I went to the bar to buy him a drink and got my kiss."

The Scottish actor filled STV in on his birthday plans, saying he’d head to Glasgow the day after his birthday to share a celebration with his niece, “which I am a little bothered about because I deserve all the attention,” he joked, “but she is getting some of it.’’
“No, it’s lovely,” he continued, “so I am going to have a family party with her, then when I make it back to New York, I will do something there.”

I've been looking at lots of Leah Moule's work on the internets, and have seen some work she's done on a couple of girls I know, and was wondering if anybody here has had any work done by Leah and what you thought about it? I've been thinking for a few years now about getting a psychedelic style quarter or half sleeve (think Grateful Dead/Ozric Tentacles artwork) with tendrils that come out over my shoulder and down across my collarbone. Her colour work looks great from what I've seen.

Obviously I need to go and discuss with Leah if she'd like to take on my piece as I don't think this is her preferred style, but would really appreciate any comments about the studio and/or artist.

Tink stuff! or "Danasaur made me do it"

I was talking about Tink's wonky vision with [info]danasaur and I realized something: Tink has finally added Zille to her amazing blind-dog radar system.

See here's the thing. Tink sometimes runs into stuff. Sometimes, Tink runs into stuff that I know she knows is there, because I have seen her dodge it a thousand times. One of the the things she almost never runs into is Beowulf, which is odd because Beowulf moves around and sometimes he moves around quite quickly in ways that appear to be unpredictable. I'm not saying that it has not happened, because Exhibit A is pictorial evidence of Tink t-boning Beowulf with her face:
Tink, a fawn female Dobe, t-bones Beowulf, a black and tan male Dobe, at high speed.

But by and large on the list of "Things Tink Occasionally Runs Into" Beowulf appears quite low, underneath things like "a chair that has not moved in the entire time we have lived in this house" and "the corner of my desk which has been here since the day we moved in".

Then Dex came to visit, and Tink ran into him a bunch. And I thought that was weird. And then Zille came to live with us, and Tink ran into her a bunch, but after Dex I thought maybe Tink just, y'know, runs into dogs who aren't Beowulf. She and Beo have lived together pretty much their whole lives, and I suspect he's quite good at predicting where she will go and not being there.

And then, one day, Tink didn't run into Zille anymore. It was like magic. One day, Tink would accidentally collide with Zille in the middle of fast-paced doggy games, and the next day, she didn't. It's like she added Zille to her blind-dog proprioception or something. Or maybe Zille learned that Tink would not (could not) avoid collisions, and learned to pay attention to Tink. Probably a little bit of both, actually. Just out of the blue, the only collisions were on-purpose ones. It really was the coolest thing to watch them suddenly engage in high-speed exciting chasey dog play with spinning and leaping and things and the mostly blind dog? You couldn't tell anymore that she's mostly blind. She looked just like the other two chasing spinning leaping sighted dogs.

These days it's practically trendy to have lots of kids. Look at Brangelina. Or the Duggars. But a recent episode of WEtv's "Secret Lives of Women" focuses on the Quiverfull movement and shows the darker side of big, Quiverfull families.


As Kathryn Joyce, author of Quiverfull: Inside the Christian Patriarchy Movement, reveals in the episode, the movement began in the 1980s as a reaction to feminism. "Good" Christian women, many of them in the home-schooling community, embraced homemaking as their highest calling and left family planning in God's hands.

Says Rachel Scott, a mother of eight and grandmother of one who was featured in the episode, "I believe conceiving children and giving birth is an act of worship. You're submitting to God's goal for the planet and God's goal for you as a woman." She adds that women should submit to men, in her opinion.

But not all Quiverfull mothers are happy being submissive to God and their husbands. Although Vyckie Garrison was involved in the movement for 14 years, she divorced her husband and left the Quiverfull movement after her daughter attempted suicide.

So, I'm enjoying my first weekend in Ilkley, UK, walking through a park like it ain't no thang, when I happen upon a gaggle of ducks. Among these relatively normal birds is a giant thing that waddles along with its flashy colors and pox-scarred face. But as soon as I whip out a protein bar for myself, it comes over fearlessly and SITS ON MY FOOT.

I've never seen a duck like this before. Can any of you ornithology club members help a girl out?

ETA: Found! It's a Muscovy duck.

Alex Meraz Visits the New Moon Premiere Line

Alex Meraz who plays “Paul” in New Moon visited the crowd waiting in line for the premiere on Friday, Nov 13th. Lines were formed as early as Thursday , Nov. 12th We were all so excited! I got a call from @kimrocha telling me that Alex had just tweeted he was going to visit fans in line. We were on wolf alert. Then I saw a SUV drive by with Alex in the passenger seat. After driving by 2 times finally, Alex came walking around the corner. He took pictures & signed autographs with everyone in line. Even though it was a very chilly evening but Alex’s visit made us all feel warm & so did his hugs! RAWR!!!

This monograph is based on the author’s research and the newest observations of scientists from different fields. The proposed study focuses on separate elements of complex problems, for example, diagnostics and treatment of various depression-disorders based on new roles of the cardiorhythm. The discussed concept could be applied in sport-related medicine, teaching and psychology as well as in the general improvement of human performance area. The simple style of the monograph does not require special knowledge from the reader and makes it useful for a wide range of researchers in areas of physiology, psychology, psychiatry, neurology and cardiology.

I'm trying to remember this movie that is possibly from the early 90s/late 80s about a boy and a boogeyman (possibly a boogeyman? I remember something about him being a kid who got turned into a boogeyman or something like that?) and the only scene I distinctly remember is the boogeyman peeing into a bottle to trick another guy to drink it, thinking it was apple juice.

Bleeding during/after sex - hard on relationship, advice please

Hi all,

I really, really need some advice/help on this issue. I don't know how to work with my partner on this issue and I don't know how to tell him how I feel, because I DON'T know how to articulate it. Occasionally, I bleed profusely during sex. We usually don't notice until we are done. But, it is always a lot, bright red. Tonight I got all dolled up, ready for action, but he was worried about "down there" and feeling uncomfortable. I get it - but I don't know how to solve it. We have been together a long time, and he said he's never had this happen with any partners prior to me (and neither have I). I just don't know what to do or say - it makes me sad and embarrassed. Of course, we both want to have sex - but I think he is worried that he is hurting me or something. I told him he is not, but he has a "thing" about blood (which I respect - I probably would too!). I just feel so helpless. I have seen my doctor and we have done EVERYTHING to "diagnose" what is causing this ("nothing"). I don't know what to do or how to fix this. We both have a strong attraction to each other and I wish I could just fix this. But, I don't want to discount his discomfort. This is so hard and so sad for me. I feel like something is wrong with me, but I can't figure out what it is, and it is impacting my sexual relationship with my partner.

Advice? Help? Anyone? I live in Denver - doctor recommendations?

They put me in clothes and hair and makeup that I probably would never wear, but it’s fun because you’re playing. Lately I’ve been getting my creative kicks shooting a lot of my own stuff. I’ll think of set designs and we’ll build them, sometimes something I thought of the night before. It’s fun to be able to do that and not feel constrained.

Not only that, but Jay is also planning on producing music for the duo.

Yes and no. It has changed from what it was when I went on my first date, but it has not changed from what I wanted when I was a little girl. I'd elaborate but I'm sick. As for the second question, we can teach ourselves to settle for a partner who is better for us, but we'll still always want what we want, whether or not it's what we need.

Painful Vaginal Opening and Itching...

Okay guys. For about a month now I've been dealing with an itchy, burning, sore vagina. I got treated for BV by my doctor, developed a yeast infection and took tons of diflucan and monistat (again, at the behest of my doctor) and the symptoms got better but never fully went away.

My doctor then did a cotton swab test and diagnosed me with vulvodynia, and perscribed me with anti-depressants (though she didn't freaking tell me they were anti-depressants. I just got home and opened the walgreens prescription bag and was like...what the hell?)

Anyway, I didn't take them. I went to a real gyno (the other doctor was a family practitioner) who ran tests for BV, yeast, and trich, which all came back negative. I've been tested for every STD under the sun now and all the tests were negative too.

So she gave me another antibiotic cream to fight a bacteria call mobiluncus that she said she might, possibly, barely even seen in my vagina. What she actually said was, "I looked for the mobiluncus, because that's really common when you've had so much medicine down there. I didn't really see it. It actually looks like everything just kinda dead down there. But I'm putting you on this antibiotic to make sure."

So...what the hell? Inside my vagina feels pretty much fine. My vulva is itchy (and sometimes this itching spreads beyond my vulva to my pubic hair and anal opening) and my vaginal opening is really sore to the touch. Really sore. Like, I could have sex, probably, but it freaking stings. (and I'm not having sex, trust me. haven't since this started... ::sad face).

Does anyone have a similar experience? I'm on my second day of anti-biotics and it seems like the itchy might MIGHT be going down and the right side of my vaginal opening might be ever so slightly less sore. But it's still sore and painful.

Does this sound like vulvodynia? Can yeast infection tests come back negative even if you've got a yeast infection?

HELP! :(
